Beaufort Jazz

Great music – and you are invited!

George Eaton

We have just received the sad message below regarding George Eaton  – a long-standing Beaufort Jazz stalwart. Many will know George as being a keen photographer who helped document the history of Beaufort Jazz with his photos.

——

I have been asked to pass on the sad news that one of your regular attendees at the (Beaufort) jazz club, George Eaton, who sadly passed away last week.

George was a guitar enthusiast who was well known and liked by many guitarists throughout the North West. I know he had been ill for some time and could not attend the jazz club recently as much as he would have liked, but I believe he was there at the last meeting, which seems quite fitting.

He will be greatly missed by his friends and family, particularly by his friend Terry Sullivan who used to accompany him to the Gypsy Jazz Night whenever he could. It was Terry who asked me to contact you.

Please could you let anyone who knew George know.

Regards, Bill Leach
