Beaufort Jazz

Great music – and you are invited!

Return of Modjango – Monday 5th July!

Modjango

Beaufort Jazz regulars will remember our early days at the Beaufort Hotel when Modjango regularly entertained us with their vibrant guitar playing. The father and son gypsy jazz duo of Roy and Paul Gregory gave us some truly memorable moments with their unique manouche style.

What is probably less well known is that Roy and Paul were the musicians originally involved in starting the Beaufort Jazz evenings which we all enjoy today. A chance conversation discussed the lack of a local Gypsy Jazz venue in Merseyside and West Lancashire. Everyone agreed it was worth having a regular Gypsy Jazz event and the Beaufort Hotel was chosen as our venue on the first Monday of very month.

Modgango promised to support the event and they were as good as their word. Performing regularly and helping to promote the event, they generously gave their time to ensure that the evenings became a great success.

Even though we lost our original venue when the Beaufort Hotel closed we managed to continue the evenings at our superb new venue at the Briars Hall Hotel.  Understandably then it gives us great pleasure to announce that Modjango will return as our opening featured performance on Monday 5th July.

This will be Modjango’s first ever performance at the Briars Hall Hotel and it promises to be a little bit special.

Beaufort Jazz regulars will  eagerly look forward to seeing them again. Newcomers who might be seeing them perform for the first time will be delighted by their Gypsy Jazz style which incorporates many musical influences. It will be a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Welcome back Modjango.

As usual, entrance is only £1. Doors open at 7.45 for a prompt 8pm start

Enjoy!
