Welcome
If you have arrived at this page it is most likely that you enjoy the uplifting and inspiring music of gypsy jazz. As the page title suggests this is a welcome to anyone who is interested in attending the Beaufort Jazz evening. It also helps answer any questions you may have.
Please also take a look at our Featured Musicians page where you can find links (in blue text) to the musician’s webpages and get a feel for the type of music we enjoy at Beaufort Jazz.
Audience
If you want to just come and listen to the music we play then its very simple. We almost always run the evening on the first Monday of the month irrespective of what day that might be. This will be confirmed on the home page of this site.
Please check out the location of the Briars Hall Hotel and aim to arrive for an 8pm start in the Ellerbrook Suite. We will be delighted to see you and will give you a warm welcome. Entry is only £1 per person and the only other cost is the odd raffle ticket which helps us fund the evening.
We always try to start with a featured band which opens the evening in great style. Then other fine musicians will either play in their groups or in impromptu line-ups. No two evenings are ever the same and there is always something new to enjoy.
Musicians
We try to start setting up from about 7pm onwards, so if you want to play please introduce yourself and see what we are all about. You can normally practice and jam acoustically in the Orangery and as time permits perform a set on the main stage in the Ellerbrook Suite.
Whilst we are mainly a Gypsy Jazz guitar event we do welcome other musicians. If you want to check anything about the evening, please feel free to contact us by leaving a comment below. If you are interested in performing the opening featured spot for the evening, please click here

I’ve just discovered your website through Adam Palma and I will be making an effort to come along to your evenings in future. Sounds like a great night out!
Please add me to your email newsletter database to keep me advised of forthcoming events.
I organise the Merseyside Guitar Show and we will have Adam Palma (and others) playing this year at the Show at Aintree Racecourse Exhibition Centre on Sunday 28th November, 10am to 5pm. He recently played at our Leeds Show and was sensational.
If you can also add us to your links I would be most grateful – Northern Guitar Shows http://www.guitarshows.co.uk.
Thanks, Regards
Peter

Hi, My wife Jan and myself are trying to get back in touch with Neil Harrison. We last saw him around 10 years ago when he played at a gig at our house with his band Risque Huey and the Trousersnakes. Would anyone have a contact email address for him please?
Thanks.
Hi Kevin – we have tried to contact Neil and let him know that you are trying to get in touch.
Found out where you are at last!
Hi Sarah – glad you have found us. Our next evening will be on Monday 3rd of January when Petrus will be the featured band.
Hopefully we will see you soon.
Thanks Sarah, I appreciate that.Happy Christmas!
Thanks – will try to get across – have been trying out some fiddle tunes
